Creaslam studio - Grade 4

Reduce - reuse - recycle

My 4th Graders were overwhelmed with excitement to see what they were learning in class come to life. After introducing them to  recycling , we brainstormed ways that we could decrease pollution and excess trash. One way we decided to do that was by re-purposing old materials and turning them into new things that we could use. At the Creaslam studio we were able to make that idea come to life. We turned old plastic bottles into beautiful pieces of artwork. We used old magazine scraps and paint to breathe fresh life into our plastic bottles, while learning recycling tips from our instructor.

Our students loved our activities. They really enjoyed decorating the bottles, especially painting. One response I received was that they felt like they were leaders because they were making a difference in their community. I enjoyed the trip but I wish we could have had more options of things to do there.

Field trip to The British Council - Grade 5

Grade 5 visits The British Council

The British Council is a governmental agency that is based in the United Kingdom. Most people only discover the English learning section (classes, exams, studying in the UK), but however, the work of the council goes far beyond that!

Grade 5 went to discover what the British Council does. They learnt this through 2 interactive activities moderated by members of the council.

This trip is a must grades 5 -12. The information is especially beneficially for the high school students who are now making life decisions on university opportunities, language courses and exams, and career opportunities.
